When some say “New York rap is not the thing right now,” I take it as if they want a rapper from Schnectady or Watertown to break out. “What we really mean is that New York City is not a fertile place for rap at this juncture. Find me someone who is the child of a Kodak plant worker that’s living the CNY or WNY struggle. That Adirondack rap.”
Until Oswego or Albany creates the next incredible rapper, I’m okay with Lloyd Banks hanging around these parts to rhyme in a clever manner. Over an ARAABMUZIK production more than anything. (Only one on this tape unfortunately, which is not the one in this post)
